my big girl job

so i'm almost through my first week at work. i love it so far. day one was a lot of security and hr stuff, getting to know the company and what not. day two, three, and four have consisted of meetings and reading. firehose effect for sure. the meetings feel like i'm watching a movie in french (which i can kind of speak and understand), i can get the gist of what's going on but still need subtitles. haha i've been reading lots of material (info i can't talk about or i'd have to kill you) and watching slide shows and making note cards for all the acronyms. i'm excited about being there and everyone is super nice and really helpful, they all understand that i'm young and haven't been around this stuff as long as they have. i can't wait for next week. :)

rubgy in the morning does a body good

yesterday i went up to the u to watch wade, tyson, and their team play their first scrimmage of the year against the u. it was a beautiful day.. a little cold... but very nice still. tj, iona (wade's mom) and i enjoyed the game from the sidelines and i took lots of pictures then we all went out of thai food. here are some pics from yesterday.

the first and last trip to wendover

by first i mean mine... by last i mean for my grammy. today me and gram (see picture) spent the day in wendover



i say her last day assuming we won't get back soon and she can't go by herself or on the fun bus. anyway, we got up early this morning and made the two hour drive out to nv. friday afternoon she called me... this is how the convo went:
gram: what are you doing monday
me: no plans...
gram: will you take me somewhere
me: of course
gram: wendover?

hehe and that's how it happened. the great part was on saturday (yes after she called and asked me to go) she got a free $150 from the rainbow casino in wendover. sweet we were already starting ahead. so we grabbed some gas and cash and headed out, once there the first 2 machines we sat at we won over $500. we came home about $300 ahead. and now i have new running shoes :) haha

the best part of the day was when we got in the car to come home and she, my gram that hates her picture taken asked me to take our picture with my winnings. it made my day. (also notice the pic above with her smiling... i'm the only one that can made that happen hehe)

dc extreme

dc extreme is the little fastpitch softball team i help coach. i love coaching. we were supposed to have two games today but they got rained out... well snowed out. i'm so ready for summer, i can't even express to you how much i am ready for it.

well anyway, we took the team down to st. george about 2 weeks ago and played against some pretty intense teams. the girls played very hard and with a lot of heart. we had a rough go, but it was our first game together and our first time being in the dirt since august or so. i was proud of them. spring league starts in a couple of weeks. hopefully the snow will stop so we can get outside and work in the dirt a little bit. cross your fingers and toes.

i watched zombieland this week and laughed just as hard as i did when it was in theaters. wade slept on the couch next to me, during the entire movie

i've been reading this book on and off for about 2 months now, but i've had some time this week to actually sit down and read it, it's great and makes me so happy and so sad at the same time.

my sister made me listen to regina spektor's samson this morning and i love it. it is one of the songs on my blog player if you want to listen to it. enjoy it.

my sister. she is on the utah state softball team. they are currently in texas for the weekend. best of luck aggies! i know what it's like to travel every weekend (but not more then 4 weeks in a row). props to someone who can do it every week for months, during school, and still smile and rock out with her sister in the morning before she leaves for the bus.

5. top excitement!



I am the newest employee at northrop grumman aerospace systems in clearfield, utah. i start on march 22nd, and i can not wait... i'm super nervous but so excited at the same time. wish me luck!

oh! and i'm super excited for wade, who also got a job today! congrats wade!
